MomSense:  Bold, Loving, Sensible
MOPS International Theme for 2011-2012

In 2011, MOPS invites you to play along as we have fun growing as Moms through the theme, MomSense:  Bold, Loving, Sensible.

Mothering is a lot like playing a game.  It requires strategy and skill to “win” at raising healthy, well-rounded kids. While each mom approaches the game of mothering with her own strategies and skills, the ultimate goal is usually the same: to be the best mom she can be for the sake of her family.  By combining her mom intuition (her God-given ability to know what is best for her child & family in a given situation) and her common sense (that ability to think and behave wisely & therefore make good decisions), each mom develops her own unique MomSense.

Mom Intuition + Common Sense = MomSense

As we work to develop and gain confidence in our MomSense, we’ll be digging deeper into Finesse, one of four elements introduced in the MOPS foundational book, Momology: A Mom’s Guide to Shaping Great Kids. Finesse is all about honing practical mothering skills and intentionally carrying out our daily responsibilities in ways that encourage growth in us and in our families.  We will discover, above all, how to use these skills and strategies to care for our families boldly, lovingly, and sensibly!

Through MomSense, as we playfully learn together, we’ll be empowered by a God who has perfectly gifted each of us to care for our own unique family.

Our theme verse for the year is:  “God doesn’t want us to be shy with His gifts, but bold, loving, and sensible.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (The Message)

God knows how unique each family is…..they came from Him! And along with the gift of our children, he has given every one of us exactly what we need to love and care for each one of our children. We may not always feel like we know just how to meet the physical, emotional, mental, & spiritual needs of our individual children (especially the ones who are soooo much different than ourselves!), but God does! He is the one who gives us exactly what we need, exactly when we need it, in order to meet all of their needs with boldness, love, & sensibility. Isn’t that reassuring???

Great For: Mothers of Preschoolers (infant through kindergarten) who look forward to time with other moms for fun, friendship, and faith. With no outside homework, and a bi-weekly meeting time September through May, MOPS is the perfect fit for today’s busy mom!

Our MOPS meetings are held at our CrossPoint campus in the East Worship Center (formerly the CrossPoint theater)

Your preschoolers are placed in age-appropriate classrooms where FREE childcare is provided by THE KIDS CLUB, a team of qualified, trained caregivers in a safe and nurturing environment.
