Activities

A Concert of Prayer: What does it mean to pray without ceasing? What is the purpose of corporate prayer?  Is all of it beautiful and heard by our God? Echoes of life and of doubt reverberate much louder at times than the beckon to pray by faith. Calling upon The Conductor to move His hand toward our small voice is not an interruption to Him – but is His joy and instruction to us as His children. Enjoy music with interludes of prayer directed for this spiritual encounter with silent and corporate prayer. (Saturday afternoon)

Juke Box Selection - Various sonatas and jazzy solos will be played in our hospitality room.  Come join the mix of demonstrations about girly things and competition in “A Minute To Win It” event.  This will be a hilarious tune to participate in or be a spectator. (Open various times throughout the weekend)

Free Concert of Time – Make your own music by participating in some optional free time spiritual opportunities such as the following:  Spend One Hour with God; Solo or Partner on a Prayer Walk; Meditation Instruction & Exercise; Practice a Spiritual Discipline; Participate in an Interactive Drum Circle; Do the Three Question Personal Devotional; Meet as a Small Group and Discuss the Questions from the Speaker’s message. (Guidance will be provided at the retreat)  Enjoy this Saturday afternoon rest!

Keep the Beat – You won’t want to miss the beat at the Breakaway Coffee House. Enjoy the atmosphere of a coffee house with a twist!  This is your opportunity to enjoy the fireplace, be the singing star of Karaoke, and/or dance to your favorite beat.  (Immediately following the dessert social on Friday night)

Slow Rhythm – Join us in the slow rhythm section by sitting around a bonfire at different locations throughout Holiday Valley. Don’t forget your lawn chair.  Weather permitting.  (Pray!)

Play It Again – It wouldn’t be a great weekend if we didn’t have great books and resources from our speaker, Jan Johnson.  Also check out the sound coming from the Breakaway Bookstore – yes, music to our ears.  (Open various times throughout the weekend)

Encore – Movie Night is planned with you night owls in mind or for those who need lyrical laughs for a well-tuned Breakway weekend.  Yes, popcorn and beverages can be purchased as part of the theater experience.  (Saturday night)

More information for each activity will be provided in your notebook that you will receive at Breakaway when you check in for the weekend.
